If your flight is delayed

Flybus departures from Keflavík Airport are timed to arriving flights, so there’s no need to commit to a specific time when you book. If your flight is late, we wait and your ticket stays valid for the next available departure, and there’s nothing to rearrange or pay again.

Journeys in the other direction, from Reykjavík to the airport, run to a fixed timetable. Choose a departure that gets you there in good time for check-in, and bear in mind the schedule doesn’t flex if you’re running late.

Bus terminal or hotel drop-off?

The standard Flybus ticket takes you from Keflavík Airport to the BSÍ Bus Terminal in central Reykjavík. Adding the Flybus shuttle to your accommodation (previously Flybus+) continues from BSÍ to a network of hotel and guesthouse stops.

If you’re staying within walking distance of BSÍ, the standard ticket is the simpler choice. If you’re carrying luggage or staying further out, the shuttle to your accommodation saves you arranging onward transport at the end of a long journey.

Flybus staff are on hand at BSÍ to make sure you board the right coach for your stop.

Booking your return

Return journeys work the other way round: you choose your departure by when you want to arrive at the airport, not by your flight time. The timetable shows three times for each service: pickup at your hotel or bus stop, the change at BSÍ Bus Terminal, and arrival at Keflavík.

Allow 45 minutes from BSÍ to the airport, or 1 hour 15 minutes if you’re being collected from your accommodation. Departures run at set times through the day, so pick the one that leaves you comfortable for check-in.

Stops along the route

All Flybus departures to Keflavík Airport begin at BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavík (shuttles from city centre stops and hotels bring passengers to BSÍ), but you can also board at three stops along the way: Hamraborg in Kópavogur, Aktu Taktu in Garðabær and Fjörukráin (Hotel Víking) in Hafnarfjörður.

Simply select your stop as the departure point when booking. Please note that the Flybus stops at these locations only when a valid reservation has been made for the specific stop. To ensure a smooth departure, be visible and ready when the bus approaches. The bus reaches Hamraborg approximately 5 minutes after leaving BSÍ, Aktu Taktu after around 10 minutes and Fjörukráin after approximately 15 minutes.

The Hamraborg stop is Bus Stop A2, outside Bókasafn Kópavogs (Kópavogur Public Library) at Hamraborg 6a, 200 Kópavogur.
