  • Flybus departures are timed with every incoming and outgoing international flight, day and night. You never have to worry about missing the bus — if your flight is delayed, the next available Flybus will take you to Reykjavik. Departures from BSI in Reykjavik are on a fixed schedule, leaving for the airport approx. once every hour from 4:00 until 22:30, in line with flight departures from Keflavik Airport.

  • The journey typically takes around 45 minutes, depending on weather and traffic conditions. The distance between Keflavík and Reykjavík is about 50 kilometers (31 miles).

  • If you are travelling from Keflavík Airport (KEF), your ticket is flexible and valid on the next available Flybus, regardless of possible flight delays. If you are leaving from Reykjavík, you must select a departure time when booking.

  • Flybus operates frequent airport shuttle departures every 30–60 minutes, always in connection with flight arrivals and scheduled departures.

  • The Flybus is a convenient airport transfer service connecting Keflavík International Airport (KEF) with the city centre of Reykjavík and selected hotels, guesthouses, and bus stops. It operates daily in connection with all arriving and departing flights.

  • Yes, bookings can be modified or cancelled according to the Flybus cancellation policy. Most tickets can be changed up to 24 hours before departure.

  • Refunds depend on the Flybus cancellation policy. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, your ticket usually remains valid for the next available Flybus. For missed departures unrelated to flight delays, refunds may not apply — check your booking confirmation or contact [email protected] for assistance.


  • No, Flybus tickets are valid for one-way travel only, either to or from Keflavík Airport. Round-trip tickets are available at a discounted price when booked together online.


  • Tickets are not transferable between travellers for security reasons. Each ticket is valid for one passenger only.

  • Flybus accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) for online and in-person purchases. Cash payments in ISK are also accepted at BSÍ and Keflavík Airport counters.


  • No. Mobile tickets are accepted. Simply show your QR code or confirmation email on your smartphone when boarding the bus.


  • Yes, discounts are automatically calculated in the booking flow for groups of 4 or more passengers. Email [email protected] to arrange special group bookings or private transfers and please purchase your ticket at our service desks at BSÍ or KEF to get discounts for seniors and students.


  • Yes. Each passenger may bring two bags, weighing no more than 23 kg (50 lbs) each at no extra charge into the luggage hold and one small carry-on bag into the passenger cabin on board the bus. Additional or oversized luggage (such as skis or bikes) may require a small fee — check here for details.


  • Yes, Flybus can accommodate larger items such as skis, snowboards, or bicycles for a small additional fee. To ensure space, please contact [email protected] or add the item to your booking in advance.

  • If you forget or lose an item on the Flybus, contact Flybus Lost & Found at BSÍ Bus Terminal as soon as possible. Email [email protected] with a detailed description of the lost item, date, and departure time. Found items are kept for a limited time before being donated or disposed of.

  • Yes, selected Flybus vehicles can accommodate wheelchairs or mobility aids, and are equipped with a wheelchair lift. They are booked specifically as a product here:

  • Yes. Children of all ages are welcome. Child fares and booster seats are available upon request — check the latest details when booking.

  • Only certified service animals are permitted onboard Flybus coaches. Other pets cannot travel on regular Flybus services for safety and hygiene reasons.

  • Yes, all Flybus coaches offer free onboard Wi-Fi and comfortable seating with charging ports and large windows to enjoy the Icelandic scenery.

  • No, but facilities are available at Keflavík Airport and BSÍ Terminal before boarding.

  • Light snacks and drinks are allowed, but please avoid hot food, allergens (e.g. peanuts) or strong-smelling items to maintain comfort for all passengers.

  • The Flybus operates day and night to serve all flights arriving at and departing from Keflavík Airport. Early-morning and late-night departures are guaranteed.


  • If you miss your scheduled bus, your ticket is still valid for the next available departure. Simply go to the Flybus stop or speak with staff at Keflavík Airport or BSÍ Bus Terminal for assistance. If your booking includes pick up from your accommodation, please contact our service center to arrange for a new pick-up time.

  • Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable, especially in winter, but the Flybus operates year-round in all conditions. It is very rare for a Flybus to be cancelled due to weather and this most certainly means that air traffic has been halted as well. Drivers are experienced professionals and vehicles are equipped with winter tires and heating for passenger comfort and safety.

BSÍ Bus Terminal also offers comfortable luggage storage areas so you can go out exploring immediately.


  • That depends how much time you want at the airport. If you take the Flybus approx. 3-4 hours before your flight departs, you arrive at the airport with enough time as recommended by the airport authorities.
