Luggage
Standard luggage allowance on Flybus
Each Flybus passenger may bring the following at no extra cost:
- Two checked bags
- Maximum weight: 23 kg / 50 lbs per bag
- One small carry-on item
There is no need to reserve space for standard luggage in advance. Seats and luggage space are guaranteed on Flybus departures.
Oversized and special luggage
Oversized or special luggage requires an additional baggage allowance and must be declared during booking.
Examples of oversized or special luggage include:
- Skis or snowboards
- Bicycles
- Surfboards
- Musical instruments
- Large sports equipment
Prices for additional luggage are listed during the booking process.
Luggage handling and responsibility
Passengers are responsible for:
- Loading and unloading their own luggage
- Ensuring luggage is clearly identifiable
- Keeping valuables, documents, and fragile items in their carry-on baggage
Flybus does not accept responsibility for:
- Minor wear and tear (scratches, dents, broken handles or wheels)
- Damage to protruding parts
- Fragile items that are not properly packed
- Delayed, lost, or stolen luggage
Travelling with children and strollers
- Foldable strollers can be transported as checked luggage
- Car seats must be requested in advance where required by law
- Parents and guardians are responsible for children and their belongings at all times
For safety reasons, children under the age of 1 cannot be booked on Flybus services. For more information, read our guide about travelling with children on the Flybus.
What to expect on board
- Luggage is stored securely in the luggage compartment
- Staff are available to assist if needed
- Seatbelts must be worn as required by Icelandic law
- Standing while the vehicle is in motion is not permitted
Important notes for Flybus+ hotel transfers
When travelling with Flybus+:
- If your accommodation is in a pedestrian zone, you may need to walk a short distance to the designated pickup point
- Oversized luggage must be declared in advance to ensure availability
