Travelling with Children in Iceland
When travelling with children in Iceland, it is important to be aware of local traffic safety regulations. Icelandic law requires that children use appropriate child safety equipment when travelling in vehicles.
Children who are under a certain height or weight must use an approved child seat or booster seat suitable for their size and age. Booster seats help ensure that seat belts fit correctly and provide proper protection in the event of sudden braking or an accident.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children are properly secured at all times while travelling. Using the correct child safety equipment is not only a legal requirement but also an important part of keeping children safe on Icelandic roads.
Travellers are encouraged to plan ahead and make sure that suitable child or booster seats are available for the duration of their journey.
Travelling with a wheelchair
If you’re travelling with a wheelchair, you can book a Flybus that is equipped with an appropriate wheelchair lift for your comfort and safety.
Please note that bookings need to be made at least 72 hours in advance to ensure availability of the appropriate Flybus.
Due to limitations on the bus, only one wheelchair space can be booked per booking. Travel companions who are not using a wheelchair are welcome on board the same bus, but will need to book their seats in a separate booking.
